The season for applying for internships is among us! Check Opportunities & Announcements to find current prospects for research and industry internships, jobs, and scholarships.
The key to showing up strong in any of these applications is a clear and concise resume that illustrates your competencies. Be sure to review our Career Resources page for guidance and tutorials designed to help you determine the content and format of your resume.
Once your resume is completed, it’s time to make it available for others to see at-will (and to rid yourself of always having to remember to attach it to an email). That’s where this blog entry comes in…
Obianuju Okafor (aka Uju) is a PhD Candidate in Computer Science at the University of North Texas. She is working with Dr. Hatley on an amazing research project – A Google Inclusion Award Project entitled – “Developing a Dialogue System for a Culturally-Responsive Social Programmable Robot.”
This blog entry highlights one of Uju’s blog entries where she provides step-by-step instructions on how to host your resume on github for free. You probably should know html (or know someone who knows it). Have no fear, you can check our free vetted learning resources (tutorials, etc.) on html (and so many other topics) to help get you started.
Once your are ready, celebrate the accomplishment and share the link to your resume with everyone you know. It is also a great idea to add it to your email signature. You can link to it from anywhere actually.
And once you do, remember to send Uju a thank-you email for sharing!
Oh… one more thing, you don’t only have to host your resume – you can host your entire website and simply include a page for your resume. How awesome is that?!?!
Happy Resuming! 🙂
