Black Women in Computing is not just a descriptive phrase.  It’s also an official community!

Black Women in Computing (BWiC) is a community created to provide support and resources focused on increasing the number of black women and other underrepresented groups in computing related fields. BWiC is the product of the GHC2010 Women of Color luncheon themed, “Building Our Community: Moving Vision into Reality”. The group was launched in 2011 with the help of the Anita Borg Institute (ABI).
